Pictures from the Creek

My favorite place to explore is a local creek. It is a kid's paradise because there are so many creatures to see, such as a beaver, a muskrat, woodpeckers, bullfrogs, bull snakes, red-tailed hawks, bald eagles, and millions of prairie dogs. Before the beaver came, there was a huge island that we played on, but the beaver made it perfect for wading, because it made its dam right across the island, creating shallow, sandy areas.

Train Fun

A few days ago, we went to a train museum. My little brother had lots of fun looking at all the trains.

It is illegal to run this train because it has a cast iron boiler that could crack or blow up.

This odd mail vehicle is called the Galloping Goose, because it swayed back and forth like a walking goose.

In case you're wondering, this engine is a massive snow blower.
