My favorite place to explore is a local creek. It is a kid's paradise because there are so many creatures to see, such as a beaver, a muskrat, woodpeckers, bullfrogs, bull snakes, red-tailed hawks, bald eagles, and millions of prairie dogs. Before the beaver came, there was a huge island that we played on, but the beaver made it perfect for wading, because it made its dam right across the island, creating shallow, sandy areas.

wow, that is a great place. a veritable wonderland! i wish we had a place like that around here for my kids to explore. and your pictures are really good--at least we get to see all of it through your 'eyes'.
